DINA ASHER-SMITH

British Sprinter

Dina is the fastest British woman ever.  She is the current World 200m Champion, four times European Champion and the first British woman to run a 100m sprint in less than 11 seconds.

She has been winning major medals since she was 16 years old.  She was European Junior 200m Champion in 2013 and later that year was selected as the youngest ever athlete on the British senior team at the World Championships in Moscow where she won bronze in the 4x100m relay.  She won gold in the 100m at the 2014 World Junior Championships in Eugene, won the British 100m & 200m titles in 2015 and became European 200m Champion in 2016.  Dina’s first Olympic Games experience was in Rio in 2016 where she placed 5th in the 200m final and won bronze in the 4x100m.

2018 was a breakout year for the Kent sprinter when she won three gold medals and set new British Records in the 100m and 200m at the European Championships in Berlin.  She ended the year as the fastest woman in the world in the 200m and joint fastest in the 100m.  In 2019, she won the World 200m title in Doha, took silver in the 100m and bronze in the 4x100m, and became the only British athlete ever to win three medals at a single World Championships.

Dina won the Sunday Times British Sportswoman of the Year in 2018 & 2019, won the BT Sport Action Woman of the Year in 2018 and has been a finalist in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2018 & 2019.  She was recently ranked 5th most marketable sportswoman in the world in SportsPro magazine.

Away from the track Dina has a great interest in fashion and beauty and has appeared on the covers of magazine like GQ, ELLE, Grazia and Dazed.  She walked the runway at the Paris Fashion Week for Off-White and earlier this year featured in a Louis Vuitton campaign.
